🏟️ National Chapter
The apex of the JMI movement — responsible for national strategy, policy advocacy, and the legal governance of the Society for Justice.
⚖️ Society for Justice
The Society for Justice is the registered legal entity of the Justice Movement of India. It is the formal organisational body through which JMI conducts registration, statutory filings, banking, legal compliance, and all acts that must be performed in the name of a recognised entity.
The Society for Justice is governed by the National Executive Committee, which is accountable to the broader National Organisers Council and the movement as a whole. It does not override JMI's collective and democratic functioning — it enables it within the law.
🏛️ National Executive Committee
Seven persons elected by the National Organisers Council from among eligible active JMI members. The committee serves a two-year term and is the legally responsible executive body for the Society for Justice.
President
Heads the National Executive Committee and represents the Society for Justice in legal and official matters.
Vice President
Supports the President and assumes responsibilities in their absence.
General Secretary
Oversees the day-to-day governance, coordination, and record-keeping of the National Chapter.
Joint Secretary
Assists the General Secretary and manages inter-unit communication and documentation.
Treasurer
Responsible for financial management, statutory filings, and transparency reporting for the Society for Justice.
Executive Member
Two elected Executive Members support the committee across governance, campaigns, and strategic priorities.
🔧 National Working Group (NWG)
The NWG serves as the central coordinating body until the National Chapter is fully constituted — that is, until at least one State Chapter is formally active. It leads the formation of all lower units across India and dissolves upon transition to the National Chapter.
ℹ️ JMI is currently in the National Working Group phase. The NWG is actively building Ward/Village Communities, Assembly Chapters, and District Chapters across India ahead of the transition to a full National Chapter.

📊 Transparency & Finances
The Society for Justice — as JMI's registered legal entity — is responsible for all statutory filings, banking, and financial compliance. JMI holds itself to the same standard of accountability it demands from governments: no corporate funding, no government funding, full member visibility into how money is raised and spent.
Financial statements are reviewed at each annual convention. Budgets are approved collectively — no individual controls funds unilaterally. Records are available to any member on request. The Treasurer of the National Executive Committee is specifically accountable for transparency reporting at the national level.
